Shipping relief goods to Burundi, Africa is landlocked & the container would need to be shipped to either Mombasa, Kenya or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The ocean rates are the same for both destinations. However, Dar es Salaam has only one border crossing to Burundi versus two for Kenya. We canship to the arrival port of destination & give you company names to assist with the African customs clearance as well as the inland trucking.

Notes:
Important, after speaking with your African broker, you need to establish the overseas import charges & if a shipper own container (SOC) is required versus our leased container. If so, the cost to buy an SOC and truck it out of the port is about $ 2500 to 2700 (you would own the ontainer and can keep it in Burundi. Your ocean freight would be increased of estimated $ 500.00.

This shipper with our assistance will be providing the US Customs required documents and that is the easy task here. Steam Lines do not always provide on-forwading with their leased containers when going far inland crossing two borders to get to Burundi border crossing. If the shipper has the budget, we will purchase on their behalf a certified sea-worthy shipper own container (SOC), and retrieve it before positioning to Anaheim.
A clearing agent at the destination port will provide the port fee, customs fee, any tax or duty & the on-forwarding fee to Burundi. Any issue at the port with customs relating to an inspection, storage is hard to anticipate or price, but, it can happen. And so after the overseas legs are gathered, it will change the shipping figure up to the estination port.
