Receiving Accurate information from the shipper is the cornerstone to any trouble-free shipment. Unfortunately, even the smallest mistakes can be costly when it comes to international freight shipping.

We had a client recently where they did not accurately size up the height of their shipment, & ended up being 12” too high. To make it worse, we were shipping to a military base in an area that had many restrictions when it comes to freight.

There doesn't seem to be a shipment type that causes more unnecessary stress for the owners of the cargo than when shipping autos of some kind. In a lot of ways, auto freight is a complicated undertaking, but when you've been in the business as long as I have, it's almost second nature.

We recently had a client shipping two trucks to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, from Los Angeles, California. Shipping a single vehicle is quite a bit different from when multiple vehicles are present, and not many people realize that. Ocean Freight Shipping Rates Increase for Asia to U.S./Canada Imports

As of Monday, July 31, 2013, United States & Canada manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers importing cargo from the Far East will incur an across-the-board general rate increase (GRI), as announced by freight shipping carriers.

Asia-Europe Rates Set for Stress Test

Carriers are unlikely to stem the decline in freight rates in the Asia-to-North Europe trade lane any time soon, even if the general freight rate increases they plan to implement later this week boost spot rates for a few days.
