TRADE ANNOUNCEMENT
SCOPE : ALL TRADES – IMPORT & EXPORT
PORT CONGESTION SURCHARGE (CGS)
VALUED CUSTOMER,
be informed that view the extension of the negotiation between the ILA and the USMX, MSC has postponed the effective date of the Port Congestion Surcharge (CGS) from December 29th, 2012 to February 6th, 2013.
MSC continues to monitor closely the developments of the negotiation in course, and hopes that any resolution among the parties is found without resulting in stoppage and/or slowdown, causing discomfort, chaos, and heavy additional expenses to both shippers and cargo owners.
The tariff filing reads as follows:
- A Port Congestion Surcharge (CGS) will be applied to all import cargo discharged at any USA port on or after February 6th, 2013 with the following quantum:
- $ 800 per 20’
- $1,000 per 40’
- $1,125 per 40 HC
- For all cargo exported via a USA port, a Port Congestion Surcharge (CGS) will be applicable for cargo received in our possession or sailing after February 6th, 2013 with the following quantum:
- $ 800 per 20’
- $1,000 per 40’
- $1,125 per 40 HC
In the event that ports and terminals will not be affected by congestion, this tariff filing will be nullified.
We thank you for your continued support.
